Ricamo Strano
Jacqueline Strano is a New York–based embroidery artist, fashion historian, and educator. She holds a BS in Fashion Merchandising Management from the Fashion Institute of Technology and an MA in Visual Culture: Costume Studies from New York University. She has taught fashion history, art history, and cinema history at Parsons School of Design.
Through her business, Ricamo Strano, Jacqueline combines vintage photographs with hand embroidery to explore fashion, memory, cinema, and women’s history. Her one-of-a-kind textile artworks transform historical images through unexpected color, texture, and stitchwork.
